The beginning of this book is largely a historical recount from the perspective of Aboriginal people. I found it a refreshing review of Australian history, it's easy to see how exploitative settlers were of the Aboriginal people.
It's mostly written as a formal recount, not as an overly dramatized, tear-jerker. Other reviewers have criticized this, but I believe it's a strength.
