For an author's debut, this certainly isn't bad. The suspense is good. The characters are nice, but I don't love any of them, seeing as they don't really have defined personalities. But the main problem I have with this book is how abruptly things happen sometimes. (For instance, men walk into Pearl's, Teeny screams and runs out)--it just seems very rushed in places.
