Finished Chaps 1, 2, 3, 4, and 9

This is one of the books I was recommended when I just started my career as a java developer. Initially read only a few sections and couldn't complete it.
However recently started reading it again and realized that this book makes much more sense after few years of writing code. Not a beginners book because a beginner might have to memorize the concepts, but an experienced person will be able to understand it better.

This book can be made use of as a quick reference book for Java developers, which will also help us stick to best practices while coding.
I will really like and intend to go through different sections of the book when in need to refer to a topic, rather than read it end to end, which could potentially get unexciting and hence cause some important takeaways to be missed at times.

Heh. This is a lot harder to read at night when I’m not fresh.

Finished chapter 3 so that puts me at least a full chapter ahead of book club?

Through the front matter &c. I think I’ll Howell-up and pencil in some marginalia on this one. As a meta-experiment about my own learning.

This book is so good it's making me not hate Java. It's almost making me like Java 🙀

Great so far. I read the first edition many years ago and the second edition several years ago. Each edition brings new insights from the latest Java language features and practices in their time and the third edition does not disappoint. It is well-written and has compelling examples.
