The sound followed, a scream of metal and machinery, like a terrified mechanical plea for help, and the old Bronco jumped into the air, flame and heat blasting out of it as the gas tank exploded. The dying breath of Ty's beloved Bronco. "She's burning, Zane!" Ty yelled..

Zane swallowed hard. That wink had been for him. Crystal-clear revelation struck Zane like a bolt of summer...He wanted Ty with him, wanted him badly. Needed him as a partner, and not just at work. Craved him as a lover more than he"d ever jonesed over heroin. Connected with him in so many ways that Zane couldn"t see a way to untangle himself and didn"t even want to try.

"You"re not dessert, Zane. You"re the main course," Ty informed him in a husky drawl.

"What"s for dinner?" Zane didn"t try to hide his smile. Ty sulking could be pretty entertaining if you didn"t let him lay a guilt trip on you. "Italian subs. I promised you salami." "Are they hot?" Ty asked...

"Dinner later. My house. Bring clothes for the weekend, 'cause you won't be making it home." Ty didn't say another word, just turned and headed for the elevator at a stroll, shrugging into his overcoat as he went.

Zane watched him go, enjoying the sight. "Score," he said under his breath before he grabbed his phone and keys and hurried to follow.

I gotta say I'm getting a little bored. I think reading these in a row may be a not so great idea. I have read a few reviews and I'm teetering with stepping away....not sure yet.

Why is Zane being so stubborn
