Love u VE Schwab but this plot is so boring I’m struggling

This book fucking sucks. None of the characters are likable or interesting. The plot is boring. The writing is mid at best. I fucking hate this series.

Slow but interesting start.

I hate to say this because I love love love the other Shades of Magic books, but… this really ain’t Schwab’s best work. I think it’s still getting a three stars from me because I love both the characters and the world so much, but the book has been so bogged down by flashbacks that the plotting and pacing suffer IMMENSELY

I am enjoying this so much already, I love being back in this world!

3 (or 4) Londons. Magic. Seems a bit of a repeat theme for library After-Hours Book Club reads. Neverwhere had London Above and London Below. This book has Grey, Red, and White Londons after a plague upturned things.

Why do skme authors find a new word that has a connotation to another morr common word and then fixate on it. Wtf does "pique" mean? Girl, just use irritation or anger. I find it enjoyable to read without having to Google random vocabulary

We've seen a bit of a couple of the 4 Londons. Magic in important. The main characters so far have some special skill. At least 3 different groups, with trouble on the horizon. Sailing ships are also a feature.

Is tes's vision in the mirror a prophecy?
