I tried reading this book at night but it would keep me wake for some reason. Started up the audio version and it’s just as good. Great and gripping story thus far!

the interview about canine units never fails to make me SOB

Oof. Looking forward to moving out of the international section. Some of these stories are a lot more clumsy and offensive from the light of adulthood.

God this is good

God, Brooks does horror so WELL. And the narrators are incredible.

Amazing how the best chapter (on the ground combat tactics) is immediately followed by the worst chapter (Nelson Mandela hugs an apartheid war criminal into a split personality)

I was happy to see one of the same actors who was in Devolution was part of this cast. Damn, Brooks can write.

Reading this one out loud in turns with the spouse, which is my new ideal reading experience

I am happy that he finally go the recognition that he deserved after all that he has been through and I feel happy about that because people were not showing appreciation

The zombie action finished fairly early on it seems so now we're just talking politics and the rebuilding of the world. It's not bad, but I was hoping for a bit more action 😅 I guess we'll see.

I have discovered this is not the all-star cast I was lead to believe thanks to Amazon’s tomfoolery. Damn you, Beezbos.
