I'm really not feeling this one. I had seen so much praise and finally decided to pick it up. The premise is to record the history of WWZ and include the humanity which is so often removed from history books. However this format has done the opposite for me. I don't get to know any of the characters enough to care about them. I'm almost certain I'll dnf...

Reading it again after I’ve read it the first time in 2013, and it’s astonishing how Brooks weaves a global tapestry of voices—from Bolivian pilots to South African doctors—each rich with cultural nuance and research. In light of COVID‑19 and Oct 7, the fractured survivor testimonies—Palestinian medics, Israeli analysts—are stitched into history without an omniscient narrator, creating raw authenticity.

i love how each countries have their own strategies in overcoming the undead. the most interesting for me was Israel, when they decided to extract the teeth of every person so when they reanimate they won’t be able to infect the others. brutal and smart!

A good start! I'm excited to continue with WWZ and I'm excited to see where it'll go from this. If it'll be more similar to the movie or the game

The audiobook for this absolutely SLAPS. I loved this book already but the audiobook takes it to a new level, because it's how the book is meant to be read. It's an oral history! The interviewer is voiced by the author, which is super cool, and there are a bunch of megafamous people voicing characters, including Mark Hamill.
