This book is able to terrify me and then interest me enough in apocalypse politics so that I can be terrified again by the next chapter. I like how realistic some of this book is and I’m excited to see where it goes.

A zombie apocalypse is an inherently compelling read but unfortunately the interview style dialogue fell flat. There were too many interviews to keep track of who’s who with 0 character development to feel attached to or invested in. Some chapters were fun to read, but most I got lost in the jargon of military/navy/etc lingo to fully understand. For a book with less than 350 pages it felt like it dragged on.

I didn’t expect to read as much of this as I did today. Very interesting concept with quick flowing writing

Once again gli scrittori riescono ad immaginare un sacco di cose ma non il crollo del capitalismo. Everything else is pretty great though

I like the different character perspectives of the book. It’s like bunch of short stories. It talked about experiences from different countries before it became a pandemic. It was a little slow at first but it’s starting to pick up.

Listened to the audio book for a road trip. Such a good read. Love how it portrays people and history from all over the world. It gets into interesting realistic details of what would happen. I love this book so much - second time listening!

god, i keep going back and forth from liking this book and not liking this book. i get that it has "war" in the title but is this all about war? really? the accounts are all sounding the same at this point. this could've been shortened tremendously because so far it all sounds like the same. zombies!! ah!! people dying!! ah! losing hope! people trying! new way of living! idk im being cynical but im ready to be done

the chapter about the pilot who crashed and got to safety by talking to the woman on her radio is by far my favorite so far. love how it has such an open ending

i didn't expect this to be as mid as it is.... while it's painted as if it really happened and it's truly believable... with all the military talk and interviews from government officials i dont know if i even give af... there are barely any characters to connect with in this text. i knew it was going to be short stories but like damn i cannot care about what any of these military/government people are talking about
