love the concept, execution is getting a bit repetitive this deep in tho

This reads so quickly. I am loving this audio experience. The full cast really sells the story and brings a certain level of authenticity to it which I'm not sure if I would have felt had I just read it with my eyes.

There is so much that's disturbing here, and none of it has to do with the zombies. The snapshot glimpses into human nature, how it goes into extremes under duress, regardless of origin, say so much about us. That it is fiction only makes reality sadder, for this fiction is built from the patterns we have historically established, and that, it seems, we are doomed to repeat endlessly.

Zombie stuff aside, if it wasn't because this was published in the early 2000s, I would say all they did was fictionalize the chain of events of the Covid pandemic. The fact they didn't, that this is supposed to be a fictional account, scares me more than any living dead could.

It's eerie and downright scary how this, written in the mid-2000s, parallels the COVID pandemic timeline.

Stepping outside my usual box with this one, but the survivor's interview angle it takes (as opposed to the zombipalooza that was the movie) appealed to me.

V tom vedru se poslední dobou už jen ploužím světem jako nemrtvý, tak si myslím, že nějaká zombie apokalypsa se zrovna hodí. A pak si dám ještě Croninovu trilogii "Přechod". Než to všechno dočtu, mohly by být teploty snesitelnější :)
