I read this over 10 years ago and realized I dont actually remember the majority. It feels completely new. I love a oral history format

Ya me siento mas atrapa en la historia. Si bien la forma que se plantea el libro, como recopilando cosas que fueron pasando, no me parece del todo atractiva, los acontecimientos ya van llamando mi atención. Me gusta

estoy leyendo en audio libro, la pelicula me encanta y decidí darle una oportunidad al libro. No suelo hacerlo porque "en teoría" ya conozco la trama pero de momento pinta interesante. No llevo mucho pero tengo hartas expectativas

I wanted my 16 year old daughter to read this book, as she is a fellow horror lover. She was reluctant as she's not a huge reader. I suggested an audiobook and she said that a lot of audiobook narrators voices irritate her, she only likes when I read to her. So I'm rereading it aloud. We are both loving it so far

Another downside of the "oral history"/short story format here: even in what is possibly the longest narrative in the book, the plot point that you've telegraphed pretty obviously in the past six pages gets revealed, has consequences which are supposed to be emotionally gripping, and then all tension is immediately dissipated because the story ends in like two paragraphs...

So here I am reading one of the (basically) short stories about a stranded female fighter pilot and the radio voice guiding her to safety and thinking this might actually be an engaging little chapter.
And then it ends on the biggest fracking cliche. Boo 😠👎🏼

This is not a good book. For a book about a zombie apocalypse, it is in fact quite boring. There is no plot. No recurring characters. There aren't even all that many zombies if we're being honest.
I'd have given myself permission to DNF except that this book is good for exactly one thing: when I read it right before bed, I conk out almost instantly. One star awarded purely for its service to my sleep hygeine.

I wish they had done this as a mini series than the World WarZ movie with Brad Pitt.
I didn't dislike the movie because it wasn't like the book... for me it was a boring movie with some decent parts.
Not sure how tough it would have been to make this into a series though, so 🤷
