I read A Perfect day for Bananafish last night ' it was better than Fifty Grand by Hemmingway, but it had an unsatisfying ending. This book contains 9 short stories, the next is Uncle Wiggily in Connecticut .

DOWN BY THE DINGHY - wanted to note that this one really confused me- in particular the brief sentence in which Boo Boo puts her hands down Lionel’s pants.

FOR ESME- WITH LOVE AND SQUALOR - really interesting Salinger’s perceived genuine connections with young girls. still creepy though.

I can't read this book knowing there are weird p*dophilic undertones. I also did some research on the author, and it turns out he was a weirdo who went after 14 year old girls. Too bad I actually liked his writing and stories but I’m never going to read them again.

UNCLE WIGGLY IN CONNECTICUT- great story of first love and the way we cope throughout life with that original loss

JUST BEFORE THE WAR WITH THE ESKIMOS - similar themes. I liked it even though it felt creepy.

Reading this because Amy recommended it and it was at her house.

PERFECT DAY FOR A BANANA FISH - I did not like this story. It was uninspired and perverted. I can see how Salinger struggled inside his own mind.

El Hombre que rie: siento que si hubiera sido un pibe mi infancia en la colonia hubiera sido exactamente asi. Pelotudamente flechada con alguien mas grande y a los pies del jefe. A yanel en cambio le haciamos bullying y le deciamos que el mejor dia de la colonia iba a ser cuando renuncie.

como le divierte escribir personajes que son re gedes y medio feos… me pregunto porque sera… senti el holden caulfield aura a 20 paginas de distancia
