Okay, I have finished two of the 9 now. The banana fish one was alright with an interesting twist at the end but the second one was a bit meh.

Update I know how A Perfect Day for Bananafish (the story) relates to Banana Fish (the anime) now and it does not feel good to understand this.

I'm gonna level with you here. Am I reading this because I'm obsessed with Ash Lynx and want to understand the inspiration behind Banana Fish? 100% yes. Such is life.

You know how in high school there’s that group (of girls?) who absolutely fall in love with F Scott Fitzgerald/‘s Great Gatsby? I never got the charm. But I think Salinger/‘s characters maybe do for me what Fitzgerald did for them.
