Raven If only GOT and other modern stories hadn't gone overboard with that concept. The Hobbit, Thorin's death was sad and fitting. He was consumed by the greed of the curse, and then redeemed. HIs death was akin to Achilles invetiable.

:o) I agree, Raven.. at the end of the day, we always seek some sort of escapism when we read a good book..so even if you don't always want a happy ending, you do want things to be put right rather a lot! in books, at least :)
