“إن المجتمعات الواثقة من نفسها تنعكس في ديانة واثقة ومطمئنة ومنفتحة, وتنعكس المجتمعات القلقة في ديانة خائفة ومتزمتة وغاضبة. تنعكس المجتمعات الديناميكية في إسلام ديناميكي مبدع خلاق, وتنعكس المجتمعات الجامدة في اسلام جامد يثور لاقل تغيير.”

Of course I cannot read this :) you are blessed to be able to have a couple or more languages. My other Goodreads friend Khaya shares the same gift. N.D. I just looked over this authors books all along I have had one book on my shelf The Crusade thru Arab Eyes. Good to see I was on to something, stumbling into reading ecstasy, that's the way she rolls.

:) thanks , I knew friends who speak so many languages , one of them speaks 7 languages ! I want to read "The Crusade thru Arab Eyes" someday as well .
Translation :
" The self-confident communities are reflected in confident and reassuring and open religion ,while anxious societies are reflected in scared religion that is angry and rigid. Dynamic communities are reflected in dynamic and creative Islam , and solid communities are reflected in rigid Islam that erupts according to the slightest change "
He was discussing a very interesting point about how people affect religion not as we only assume that religion affects people , meaning two way relation , not one way .
Yes it is two ways also in Judaism and Christianity. Looking forward to his books. Is it a possible typo last sentence "solid communities are reflected ....."
