Robert was born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, in 1993, and grew up in the town of Newcastle, Kwa-Zulu Natal. From 2012 to 2015, Robert completed a B.Sc with majors in Mathematics and Economics at the University of Cape Town. In 2016, he completed an Honours degree in Economics, and completed his Masters degree in 2018. He has since embarked on a PhD focussing specifically on behavioural economics and the economics of education in tertiary institutions.

Having loved reading from a young age, it was only a matter of time before his hand turned to writing. In 2008, Robert won his first prize for his writing, winning the short-story writing competition "Time of the Writer" for his South African Cinderella tale "If the Doek Fits ...". After ...more
