I am a retired surgeon. I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1941. I attended school, studied medicine and specialised in surgery in the same city. I was a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of South Africa and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I supplemented my surgical experience in London and in Israel. I subsequently emigrated to Denmark where I practised as a surgeon until my retirement in 2008. I published over a hundred and thirty scientific articles in surgical and medical journals and have written a handful of articles for lay magazines.
He Does Not Die a Death of Shame is my first novel.
I am married and have a son, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren.

Dear Jack, I found your book through Jacky Sobel. I'm reading it now. I'm transported to my days in Johannesburg, high school at KES, my love of Tobias, training with DuPlessis (completed in 1975), my own Jewish-Lithuanian origins, my issues with social injustice (blacks and Jews and others) and my life as a surgical oncologist in the USA.
