Del Boland has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology with 25 years experience in fast track project management, new business development, and technical sales. The first draft is usually not a problem for me unless I run into a structur…moreMy experience is more about the emotional connection I feel with a topic. The first draft is usually not a problem for me unless I run into a structural issue where I might feel that something's missing in a story, for example. In this case, I tend to deconstruct and analyze the story until I find the balance that I'm hoping to achieve. Mostly, I struggle with motivation to edit and rewrite after the first draft is written. Ultimately, maintaining my level of interest in my story or my topic is my best defense. (less)
