I studied Mandarin in high school; the writing, pronunciation, etc. But because I don't routinely use it so now I forgot. :DDD
Actually, I don't really like Indonesian song. There's only a few are really good. But if you love to hear Indonesian pop songs (especially band's song), try to hear Peterpan Band, Ungu Band, Ada Band, etc. I don't really a freak about them, but I know a little bit because they have big fans here. LOL
Bahasa Melayu (or Malay) in Malaysia and Indonesia is different. There's some words that we don't use in our standard language or even our daily conversation. But for some areas in Sumatra, which is adjacent to Malaysia, the dialect in their area is almost like Bahasa Melayu in Malaysia.
Overall, the Malay language remains the same. Indonesian people can still understand a little bit Malay language in Malaysia. And vice versa. It seems like we come from the descendants of a common ancestor.

To be honest, I self-studied most. I only studied French formally in college but aside from that I actually learned a lot better and faster if I self study. I l;ike to learn Indonesian or Bahasa Melayu because I really like to know what do the songs of Radja means.. =P I love them so much!
Can you suggest really beautiful love songs in Malay? And is Bahasa Melayu and Indonesia very different?

Wow! You certainly speak my language fluently I guess.
Of course, it's such an honor to help you. But, I'm not a good translator. There are some situations where I find English and although I understand the meaning, I find it hard to translate into my language. LOL
I see you speaks many languages, did you learn those languages by yourself?
