Always great to meet another author, especially one who's into science fiction. I've just self published part one of my Lundquist chronicles - a kind of tribute to Nigel Kneale's Quatermass that's also heavily influenced by MNR James. It's available on http://www.lulu.com/content/4649341 and the ISBN is ISBN 978-1-4092-4155-3
I also write crime fiction and have a regular publisher for ENEMY WITHIN, a retrospective crime thriller set during the 1985 miners strike. You can look that up on www.picnic-publishing.co.uk This is part one of my Jaded Jerusalem series and features black cop, Alan Kemp, as a very minor character. He then moves centre stage in COOL BRITANNIA, about football violence and police corruption in 1990s Birmingham and REDEMPTION SONGS, where he swears revenge against a Yardie gang boss he's known since childhood. The setting for this is more or less contemporary. In a movie I'm currently working on he runs a (white) informant in the fascist underground. I was heavily influenced by Chester Himes in conceiving the Jaded Jerusalem series and am hoping from some feedback from the African-American writers group that I've just joined, on these projects, even though they (like me) are very, very British. Hope to talk soon.
