Susan Van Volkenburgh is an award-winning author of Christian fiction and nonfiction, celebrated for her lyrical style and immersive reimaginings of biblical history. Her Trilogy of Kings Saga brings ancient Scripture to life with depth and spiritual resonance; the first volume, The Stone of Ebenezer, received the Grand Prize in the New Look Writing Contest sponsored by WestBow Press and HarperCollins.

Shaped by personal loss, Susan began her literary journey after the death of her father in the September 11, 2001 attacks. Her experience of grief and faith is poignantly explored in Silent Resolve and the God Who Let Me Down (A 9/11 Story).

With experience as an oncology nurse, homeschool educator, and member of the gospel music group The Van

THE ANOINTED ONE: The Story Behind the Story

I have journeyed far and fought many battles. I have lived and loved, and even looked in the face of death. For I have seen life through the eyes of my characters.

We all seek stories of hope, of people who rise above their circumstances, as examples for us to follow, so that we, too, can rise.

For most of us, The Anointed One is not a new story. Yet the depth of this epic tale goes far deeper than

“We all have hurts. But to each one who suffers, his is the greatest.”

“The reward of a thing well done is having done it.”

“I have a handful of prayers that I pray all the time... One is that God will put my books into the right hands at the right times. I've prayed this prayer thousands of times, and God has answered it in dramatic fashion countless times. The right book in the right hands at the right time can save a marriage, avert a mistake, demand a decision, plant a seed, conceive a dream, solve a problem, and prompt a prayer. That is why I write. And that's why, for me, a book sold is not a book sold; a book sold is a prayer answered. I don't know the name and situation of every reader, but God does, and that's all that matters.”
Mark Batterson, Draw the Circle: The 40 Day Prayer Challenge

The Sun never says to the Earth,

"You owe me."

Look

With a love like that,
It lights the whole sky.”
