My next book is about community economics.

Inequality is growing and the cracks in economies are widening, as neo-liberal capitalism reaches its logical conclusion of increasing wealth for a decreasing minority. Large parts of developing economies have never been in the formal financial system, and use forms of social or natural capital which aren't part of a traditional economic outlook. Women are more likely to be excluded from formal finance, but are key to building social capital, which is the glue that keeps communities functioning.

It then became "Let's Not Build a Bank" until we settled on the final title.

While we were writing the book, it became increasingly obvious to me that capturing these ideas on paper wasn't going to make the change happen, so I set up hiveonline to be part of the change.(less)
