My name is Carla. I am a Self-Empowerment Coach who empowers her clients to let go of what is no longer serving them so they can take action steps in creating the life they have always dreamed about.

Creating that life takes self-empowerment. It takes lots of confidence, courage, faith, and action steps to create that new reality. It takes belief in oneself.

Why did I choose to become a coach? Well, it wasn’t so much a choice as it was a calling, a purpose. See, I endured years of childhood trauma at the hands of my mother - mentally and physically. She even let one of her boyfriends sexually assault me on occasion as she stood by and laughed about it. All the while denying any responsibility for her actions and failing to protect me as a lit My name is Carla. Why did I choose to become a coach? Well, it wasn’t so much a choice as it was a calling, a purpose. See, I endured years of childhood trauma at the hands of my mother - mentally and physically. She even let one of her boyfriends sexually assault me on occasion as she stood by and laughed about it. All the while denying any responsibility for her actions and failing to protect me as a little girl.

Eventually, my parents got divorced when I was 11 years old. And when the judge asked her if she wanted her boyfriends or her children, because she can’t have both - she chose her boyfriends over my brother and I. So my brother, my Dad, and I moved in with my Dad’s sister and mother. Things were fine for a while until my Dad had to move into a new place that was provided for by his employer. Unfortunately, they didn’t allow children in the residence. And being that our mother didn’t want anything to do with us, my brother and I ended up in the foster care system. Why we didn’t stay with our Aunt and Grandmom, I don’t know. And now it seems irrelevant all these years later.

As time progressed, I was bullied in school for how I looked, dressed, and spoke. It was a never-ending vicious cycle that slowly suppressed who I was. It was dimming my light more and more as I got older.

But the thing is, as I reflect back on that time in my life, I realize now that I’ve always had this intuitive sense that everything was going to be okay. That the pain and the suffering wasn’t going to last forever. That all the pain and suffering I was experiencing was lighting the way for me to one day make a significant impact in the lives of others.

My self-empowerment and healing journey began five years ago when I turned 40. I was feeling lost and confused and just plain fed up with the way I was being treated by those around me.
I held in a lot of pain and resentment because I wasn’t following my heart’s desire by not having healthy boundaries in place to create inner-peace. It took lots of baby steps over the course of the next two years.

I was then blessed to come into contact with a couple of the most amazing human beings on the planet. I was shown how to let go of the pain and resentment I was holding onto towards my mother for the abuse. I was shown that forgiveness is the true path to healing, happiness, and clarity.

Once I started to peel back the layers and discover me again, that’s when the floodgates really started opening up for me. I discovered the joy of life again, the vibrancy of it all. It took another 2 years for me to finally have the courage enough to leave my everyday corporate job and start creating the life that I knew deep down I was destined to live. April 8, 2022 was a day that changed my life forever - the day I walked out of my office for the last time.

Since then, I have started my own blog. Created four journals, wrote my first book(just over 30 days), started a YouTube channel, putting myself out there even more on my social media by posting more consistently and by doing reels. And I’m doing some mentoring as well. If it wasn't for the belief I in myself, I wouldn't have accomplished these lifelong dreams. And I want to support you in making your dreams happen too!
