Darin Hartley is a native Floridian, U.S. Navy veteran, and lifelong storyteller. His career led him to live in Seattle's Pioneer Square for over a decade, where the rain-slicked streets and layered history inspired the dark mystery of Streets of Blame. Originally penned in 2016, Hartley rediscovered and completed the novel in 2025, finally finishing the compelling story he couldn't shake. They have said it has: great pace, believable characters, and the use of the environment as almost a character itself.

It's available on most major outlets as an e-book. You can get it on Amazon as an e-book, paperback, or hardcove Read more of this blog post »

The Gator Took Three by Darin Hartley
“The gator rolled a scarred eye toward him. Then it opened its jaws slightly-- and something pale dropped out, floating toward the skiff like a tiny, drifting leaf.
Caleb stared.
Not bone.
Not bait.
A human finger.
A second one surfaced beside it, caught in the current.”
