For example, I was sitting at the counter of a local restaurant eating lunch when I starting thinking about what it would be like for the restaurant to be in my fantasy story. Several of the chapters in the book I am working on grew out of daydreaming at the counter. Ideas just sort of pop into my head. It's probably because I spend too much time daydreaming. I have taken to carrying a notebook with me to jot down ideas, lest I forget them. I suspect it looks weird for me to stop while lifting weights and pen out a page of scribbled notes about a cat who becomes a pirate captain or whatever. Still, it's worth it. (less)
