Lauren Bennett has been writing since the age of ten and by fourteen she’d settled on being an author the likes of Stephen King or J. K. Rowling-- which hasn’t changed since. Cupcakes and Rainbows, her debut, came out in 2017.

Her writing draws on her own past with her poetry like a diary and an act of self-healing. She lives in Pensacola, Florida with her Jack Russell Nieve where she works as a waitress. If she’s not writing or working, she can be found with a belly full of chicken pesto pasta playing Runescape.

Take whatever your idea is and start writing everything you know about it, an everything you want to be in your writing and go from there. Writing is a great way for me to express everything I'm feeling without feeling embarrassed or ashamed. It helps me get my thoughts in order before having an important conversation, and it also gets crazy out of my head. Since I've started writing again I don't always feel like I'm losing my mind. It's also nice to see my fantasy worlds come to life and to help people by sharing my experiences.(less)
