I feel that writing isn't something that can be forced. If you are not in the right mind-set to write, then don't do it. . . don't force it!
It took me six years to complete "Shattered Crust." This was partly because I was working a full-time job and raising a family, but writers block was a big part of that.
My advice is that when you feel like writing, jump right in and do it! And when you don't, let it be, because if it's in you, it will ALWAYS come back. I find that when it's not forced, it becomes a more powerful story.(less)

Grandpa Shot a Bear!

Almost every summer growing up, my family and I would travel to the Yellowstone area. When I was five, my extended family came with us for the adventure.
I vaguely recollect the trip, due to my young age, but I'm reminded of it often! Usually, I'm told that I was a horrible brat on that vacation.
