Michael Mizov is a New Jersey-based writer and marketing strategist. His fiction blends gothic atmosphere, dark fantasy, mystery, and psychological tension, often circling questions of inheritance, guilt, power, and the stories people tell themselves to survive.

By day, Michael works in B2B market strategy, bringing nearly two decades of experience in product innovation, sales enablement, and commercial growth. By night, he writes novels, restores an old Victorian house, and reads more Stephen King than is probably reasonable.

He lives in New Jersey with his wife, their twin daughters, and their dog, Tina.

The novel is set in 1919, but its central concerns feel sharply contemporary: inherited trauma, social expectation, women’s agency, family obligation, and the pressure to preserve institutions that may not deserve saving. Bradbury Manor is more than a haunted house. It is a symbol of legacy itself: beautiful, decaying, powerful, and dangerous.

For readers drawn to atmospheric horror, historical fiction, and psychologically complex stories, The Last Heir of Bradbury Manor offers a gothic exploration of what it means to inherit a name, a home, and a history that wants to survive at any cost.(less)

Let me preface this review by saying that I do not normally read romance novels, spice or no spice. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed Camille and Kosta’s journey through this book. The sex scenes were tastefully done, but what really pulled me in ...more

I spend a lot of time studying scene pacing and the slow unraveling of characters in dark fiction, and Gustav Hasford’s The Short-Timers delivers a masterclass in both. It is a visceral experience that leaves a lasting scar. I picked this up (at a ga ...more
