Shannon Rogers began writing at the age of 9 with a cute little poem dedicated to her stepfather about bunny rabbits. While bunnies were a fun source of content, Shannon added short stories and finally books.

After taking several years off from novel writing to concentrate on her career and kids, Shannon finally caught a lucky break, making friends with talented and prolific author, and friend, (C.G. Mosley), who had begun a sci-fi space opera trilogy whose first book, Star Cruiser Titan, does very well, but whose second was only a few chapters in. He came up with the brilliant notion that she plot and finish writing the rest of the story, and before she could blink, she was signing her first publishing contract for her co-authored book, sci

I often find that if you just start free-writing, even if it's not about the book, it's enough to get you typing and immersed, and then you can go back to your current work in progress and just start writing.(less)

Memorial Day

This is a special day to remember our troops who have fought and died for the sake of our freedoms.  These are special men and women who give of themselves and their families who have shared them with us. These people have given their lives so that we are able to be the country we are today, able to enjoy the freedoms we do, and are able to be what we want to be.

Gustave Flaubert
“It is a delicious thing to write, to be no longer yourself but to move in an entire universe of your own creating. Today, for instance, as man and woman, both lover and mistress, I rode in a forest on an autumn afternoon under the yellow leaves, and I was also the horses, the leaves, the wind, the words my people uttered, even the red sun that made them almost close their love-drowned eyes.”
Gustave Flaubert

Kristen Callihan
“Why won't you let me kiss you, Anna?"
I can't breathe.
"Why, Anna?"
"It's too much," I rasp.
"Not when I want everything." He says it so deep and strong, a staking of a claim. "And I want everything with you, Anna.”
Kristen Callihan, The Hook Up

Shannon Rogers I have it but I haven't read it yet. I got it because it had been compared to the CL Stone series I love. I'm like you, I like to have some romance. That's why I love the CL Stone series. It has it in spades.

Sophie's Reading Corner I can love any kind as long as there's some romance or at least it's fun enough for me :)) I haven't heard it before, but have you read the Spearwood Academy? ^^

Shannon Rogers Sophie, thanks for sending me a request! I'll have to check out your shelves and see what we have in common! :-)
