“Great stories don’t require profanity”

It’s hard to do, but it’s a priority for me to write stories without content and language that I don’t want to replay in my head.

Being a writer is fulfilling emotionally and spiritually.

Early in my life there were those who believed in me as a writer. It took me twenty years to believe in myself. When I begin to write I realized that being an author was who I was always supposed to be.

Each work of fiction has a theme, such as forgiveness, contentment, or the Lord will provide. I don't have the expectation that my writing will rock the world in a huge way, but rather as if I'm lighting a candle (Matt 5:14).(less)

It's been a long time since I released a novel. I'm back on track, however, after allowing something to temporarily derail my creativity. I'm optimistically thinking I can get my working manuscript to my content editors by the end of this year. Then it goes to copy editors, and then into the publishing process. So how about a prediction of spring 2019?

My next novel, Gypsy Grace, is about a young woman who is not willing to follow the culture of her people, the Irish Travelers, who many consider to be gypsies. Aware of what how her intelligent mother was relegated to all but bury her intellect, Grace rebels inwardly and earns a Bachelor's degree online. When she overhears that her father intends to betroth her to her love interest's father, she rebels outwardly and leaves home, taking her younger sister, Uny, with her to protect Uny from a similar fate.

Of course, Grace and Uny's departure solves one problem, but incites so many, many, more.(less)

“Great stories do not require profanity.”
Joan Bannan, Twintuition

“We can't really definde good, can we? Good for one person might be ruination for another. The problem with our human eyes is that we can only see the right now. But God? He sees around the corner, over the hill, and clean to the horizon. He knows what's comin', an' He knows what we need to be prepared for what's comin'. So sometimes those things we face that we don't understand - the things we think of as bad - are really for our good down the line.”
Kim Vogel Sawyer, A Hopeful Heart

“Looks aren't everything. Looks fade, but character remains.”
Kim Vogel Sawyer, A Hopeful Heart

“The Bible that is falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn't.”
Kim Vogel Sawyer, Courting Miss Amsel

“The only explanation I can offer for my irrational lunacy is my personal ailment, one of its lingering symptoms being an unhealthy penchant for lashing out against the innocent. Please accept my apology.”
Nita Prose, The Mystery Guest
