Painfully-literate, 20-year veteran of bitter aggro shitecomics and also a pretty good writer, Eugenio Negro is a large rodent of the species Lagidium Viscacia living in occupied Amah-Mutsun Ohlone territory. His novels deal with consumerism, classism, environment, language, perception, gentrification and police lynching. His comics are about the same only shorter and snottier.

The two perfectly common obstacles to writing, sometimes becoming "blockish," are: 1. lack of preparation for the subject/personal expectations/type of story and 2. fear of writing badly. I can't say much about 2 because I've never let that stop me from writing. The first 2 drafts are always bad! Honor the story and get it pretty!(less)

Eugenio Negro is starting Absalom, Absalom!: I played a game with myself while reading this in which I read it out loud (in Faulkner's voice, of course) in order to try to catch as I read it whether to read it with humor or seriousness, and what I consider to be my accuracy makes me feel like a great reader.

Trashy macho "midcentury" James Bond type adventure story with some great suspense and a reliance on dialogue, albeit kinda repetitive, that sets it apart from other trashy macho adventure stories. I can see why Gonzálikz was so popular in his day. W ...more
