Mao Sim was born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 1967. Her family, and all of the Cambodian population, endured much emotional and physical pain during the height of the Vietnam War. Surviving the nightmare has made her a stronger person. Someone that never takes things for granted, especially her freedom.
