She covers topics you would never otherwise read about in a book. I enjoy her opinions even though I found myself disagreeing with some. I enjoyed her opinions because it isn’t often that a women can truly embrace who she is flaws and all. This book made me think of the way society affects us all. It confirmed that I am not the best feminist but I am content with it. Her bravery when speaking about her rape Is courage sand heart felt. I found one of my favorite quotes was “I can not tell women of other cultures what that freedom and equality looks like”. To be completely honest this book reminded me of tumblr and the social justice blogs I favor. There are some topics I wish she touched on more such as trans* women being underrepresented and cultures. When she attempted to link a concept of a book into a point or example she was trying to display I often felt myself droning on sometimes just skimming it quickly instead of reading. Apart from that I often found myself reading that book everywhere I went, milking every second of free time I had to read this book.
The title is misleading she isn't a bad feminist at all, she is human. She doesn't wish to be put onto a pedestal that she will one day be knocked off from. She's imperfect and she knows that. She admits to loving pink, and playing dumb with plumbers just because it is easier. Sometimes she finds it easier to not take on a moral high ground. I love that about her, sometimes in a patriarchal society its jus easier. I feel like I have so much in common with her from the ordeals we have faced to not wanting to take on the feminist label. In her book she talks about how much she fought against the word. She didn't want to be seen as an angry man hater. To a lot of people and especially women “feminism” is a bad word and not one they enjoy saying. I hope this book can entice especially, young women to proudly take on the label “bad feminist”. ...more "
