Jeffrey Roach was born and raised in Kentucky and lives with his husband Ken and their son Jackson in Decatur, Georgia.

Jeffrey takes his inspiration from everyday life. His writing revolves around universal themes like love, family, and friendship, with a healthy side order of calamity to keep things interesting. His first novel, PopDaddy, is a memoir that tells the story of how Jeffrey and his husband adopted their son from Guatemala.

The other thing I do is write dialog in my head all the time. Whenever I'm stuck on how to write a particular passage I will get up from my desk, but take the scene with me in my head and work on it all day long until I get back to my desk the next day and finally get it on paper.(less)

Performance Anxiety

Whenever I look at my scrawl it looks like the letters of the alphabet are engaged in some furious civil war with each other. The e aggressively pushes against the f, which in turn slashes straight through the r. I’m sure if I had gone to Catholic school I would have better penmanship.
