David Dalton has worked for the San Francisco Examiner and the San Francisco Chronicle. His connection with science fiction dates back to 1983, when he started the Science Fiction Writers Network. His entire professional life was spent in publishing, but he is an amateur historian, an amateur musician, and an amateur photographer. He has now retreated to a small farm in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where he also is involved in environmental activism and local politics.
