Cathinca van Sprundel (1989) writes (YA) fantasy, with a historical touch. Residing in Sassenheim in the Netherlands, she works as a copywriter and editor. She studied film, literature and journalism at the University of Leiden. Myths, fairytales and legends are her main inspiration. After writing a thesis about the four branches of the Mabinogion (a collection of welsh myths), she decided to write a novel about it. It resulted in her debut: ‘De vrouwe van Myrdin’, published by Dutch Venture Publishing. A prequel, 'De held van Anwyn' followed and many short stories in collections.

Her work is translated in English, German, Chinese, Italian and Turkish.
