Patricia Skinner was born in Bushey, Hertfordshire, and grew up in beautiful West Sussex on the coast. She didn’t realize at the time how the verdant scenery and bracing sea air would set standards for her in later life, and how they would make her homesick for decades while living in the Middle East.

Her life has taken her the roundabout route.

She married a Jordanian in 1975 and moved to Amman, Jordan, in 1984 with her husband and three daughters. Her two sons were born in Amman.

Patricia has been committed to living as naturally as possible (given the velocity and precariousness of her trajectory) since her early-twenties.

Writing comes naturally since she loves to communicate. Whether she writes well or not is a matter of opinion. Her career started late because devoting herself to bringing up her children first was more important. In fact, she wasn’t really planning a ‘career.’ It just happened.

A former writer for the Gale Encyclopedia of Alternative Medicine and the Gale Encyclopedia of Psychology, most of those entries are now for sale individually on Amazon.com.

In 2010 she went to work for Elsevier Health Amman, setting up their regional publishing department within a few months, in uncharted waters. Her education in alternative medicine continued during this time. Coming into contact with a vast number of local physicians and scientists, she was struck by how many of them embrace natural healing therapies, to one degree or another.

In between these career milestones, Patricia plied her trade as a content strategist and writer, specializing in SEO. This has gradually morphed into digital marketing using mainly social media, since in recent years Google has demonstrated an inclination to ‘cook the books.’ Along the way there was a long stint as a senior writer for a major web content producer.

Patricia strongly believes in the Hippocratic Oath: First, do no harm. If a medical premise does not comply with that oath, for her it is not valid. She also believes in good, clean, healthy food:
