In 2016, Dana released Beautiful Secret through Pandamoon Publishing. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Southern Italy, the novel explores the pain of betrayal, forbidden romance, and the enduring power of family. The story was inspired by Dana's own connection to Italy, where she has spent years traveling to visit family. The region's sun-drenched landscapes, rich traditions, and close-knit communities helped shape the heart of the novel and remain a continual source of inspiration for her writing.
Dana's middle-grade fantasy novel, Zo, was born from a bedtime story she created for her three daughters. Published in 2021, the book invites young readers into the whimsical world of Zo, where three sisters must overcome great challenges in order to both save their friends and make it back home. With themes of bullying, empathy, and forgiveness, the novel encourages young readers to look beyond differences, extend grace, and recognize the value and worth of every individual. At its core, Zo celebrates the belief that courage and kindness can overcome even the greatest obstacles.
Her newest novel, Hear Me, reflects another deeply personal passion. The young adult romance follows two Deaf high school students as they navigate love, identity, communication, and the challenges of living in a predominantly hearing world. Drawing from Dana's experience as an educator of the Deaf and her years working within the Deaf community, the novel offers an authentic and heartfelt portrayal of Deaf culture while highlighting the universal desire to be understood, accepted, and loved.
In addition to her work as a novelist, Dana is an accomplished screenwriter developing projects for film and television. Her stories often explore themes of faith, redemption, family, hope, and the transformative power of love. Whether writing fantasy, romance, drama, or inspirational fiction, she is passionate about creating stories that entertain while pointing readers and audiences toward deeper truths.
