Will Mathison is an author, illustrator, director, public speaker, and philanthropist best known for the Battles of Liolia series he began at 10 years old.

In the 4th grade Will Mathison was inspired to raise funds in honor of his friend's little brother who was diagnosed with Leukemia. Over the following several months, Will wrote and illustrated the story he had been developing in his imagination since reading "The Chronicles of Narnia" in the second grade. In the 5th grade Will completed "The Last of Kal" which is the first of 5 books in "The Battles of Liolia" series and donated all proceeds to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
