PAUL W RYAN spent his formative years in Dublin Ireland, reading and proofreading everything from sweet wrappers to stolen Playboys until he eventually started writing stories of his own.

He made his debut as a novelist in 2014 with Rage, then in 2015 he published Moonstruck, and in 2016 he released his third book, Monster Hunter Extraordinaire.

Paul is currently a Digital Marketer in Dublin, where he spends his free time painting and playing tabletop wargames, gaming, and chatting about all things craft beer.

For me, working on several projects at once keeps me from getting writer's block. If I find myself unable to start on one project, I just open a different one.

If working on multiple projects isn't for you, then I'd recommend trying productivity tools such as Write or Die or No Going Back. Just, only use kamikaze mode if you're feeling brave! (less)

Do it first thing in the morning. Write while you are sitting in traffic. Write on your iPhone while you’re waiting outside the cinema for your friends.

Forget the romantic notions of ‘waiting for your Muse’ to do the hard work for you. Little by little. Write 250 words every day, and that’s over 90,000 words by the end of the year.

Look at the project in small chunks. That, and remember, your first draft is always going to suck so edit, edit, edit!(less)

Dirt and Decay

I wish I could say the world wasn’t as bad before the filthy flesh-eaters came, but let’s be honest: Dirt and decay always prowled the streets—only now, its got teeth and shambling limbs.

The bone-brunchers shuffled mindlessly, as though their limbs were in constant protest with their rigid bodies. Giant boils swelled on their blackened flesh. Dry, scratchy growls emitted from
