A.E. Walnofer answered N.H. Schwabacher's question: The cover for "With Face Aflame" is stunning and perfectly suits the character of the protagonist. Madge's expression is haunting, relatable, and just beautiful! Did a real person inspire this cover, maybe as a model? Thank you, NH! I found the photo of the model on a stock photo website, and the cover designer created a nevus flammeus for her face according to the description of Madge's mark. The arches are part of the ruins of St Mary's Abbey in York, Yorkshire. See Full Answer
