I never expected to become a novelist.

Growing up, I wasn't much of a reader unless the story came with pictures. Comic books first sparked my imagination, and while a handful of novels eventually caught my attention, it wasn't until I started writing that I discovered how much I enjoyed storytelling.

I was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota, grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and eventually joined the U.S. Air Force, where I served from 1997 to 2006. Somewhere along the way, I discovered a love for building worlds, creating memorable characters, and putting them through situations that are probably much worse than they deserve.
