That they’re now both living with hidden identities, so each time Dathan thinks about exposing Sarhedrin, Dathan feels almost like a hypocrite because he’s also a king claiming a false identity! It happens when I set up strong threads from early on, then they start to grow by themselves and create more dynamics in the story

Lucia Damisa is 33% done with A Night of Falling Stars: The exchange of letters and the paintings were things I added MUCH later in the editorial process. My editors had said they wanted more time spent together between Dathan and Zair, but I had deliberately put the distance between them to retain tension! So I added the letters they wrote while apart as a way to keep them connected. I ended up really loving this 🥰
