Robinson so accurately and beautifully captured the voice of the people who raised me in Iowa that I found myself more deeply touched by Gilead than by anything I've read in memory. The sort of beauty that is truth.

One of the most important books about human origins and outcomes. I don't agree with all Jarad's conclusions, but his fact-gathering and overall picture of the developmental trajectory of humanity is fabulous. A must read, imo.
