Leah Dawkins answered Leah Dawkins's question: Why did you choose Mississippi for the location of your books? Why not just choose South Carolina, your home state? You are going to laugh! I was worried people would think the Beauregards were actually people they knew. Their neighbors! I still have people at church coming up to me and asking me who the characters "really are!"
