"The truest strength on this earth is to look at those who oppress you, and understand they are only harborers of a pain given to them by someone else. Monster is a lighthouse, a signal, a warning; powerful." Jun 15, 2025 05:57AM

"On and off with this book cause of school but the murder of Alyona is one of the greatest chapters i’ve ever read; I even dreamt I was Raskolnikov committing the murder and then pondering the consequences and morality of it at one point because the Chapter was so good. Fyodor does such a good job proving Arendt and criticizing Kantian ethics. We cannot solely legislate the categorical imperative + ordinary evils." Aug 28, 2025 01:02AM

Sally Rooney
“She closes her eyes. He probably won’t come back, she thinks. Or he will, differently. What they have now they can never have back again. But for her the pain of loneliness will be nothing to the pain that she used to feel, of being unworthy. He brought her goodness like a gift and now it belongs to her. Meanwhile his life opens out before him in all directions at once. They’ve done a lot of good for each other. Really, she thinks, really. People can really change one another.
You should go, she says. I’ll always be here. You know that.”
Sally Rooney, Normal People
