I never planned on being a freelance author. When I was in college, I had dreams of spending my years in a busy newsroom. I wanted to capture the stories that intertwined lives of people within my community, making a difference in the world. Then, my world got turned upside down and I turned to writing for myself. I needed to feed the strong, passionate drive that flows through me as a writer. I realized I could still make a difference, even though it wasn't the path I had set for myself.

I was born in Peoria, IL--and raised in Morton, IL, a town around 16,000 people but it's known to be the "Pumpkin Capital of the World." A small town life helped me to see my big dreams as a professional author. I began writing stories and poetry as early ...more
