I like the way he describes locations, which enhances the story and the characters. He places me in a heavily wooded area in Massachusetts where the serial killer is lurking. The sky is blocked, heavy with black. There is no sound, not even a cricket chirping. The only thing you can see is the outline of a dull-light surrounding the forest. It is here where you hear only your footsteps and smell the stench of death.(less)
