I live in my hometown, Miami, Florida, home of the recent Super Bowl champion Miami Dolphins. (OK, it was in 1973, but at my age the years sort of blur together.) Before retiring in 2019, I made my living cooking in restaurants and hotels for forty years. Since 1986, I've been an active member of Amnesty International and other social justice organizations. Just Being Alive: A Story of Struggle and Self-acceptance is my memoir of living with autism and mental illness and is his first book.
