How do you get inspired to write?

All the pages in The Cut-Ups: Tattoo Flash from the Third Mind were …moreMy book is a collection of tattoo flash, so I don't write in the traditional way. All the pages in The Cut-Ups: Tattoo Flash from the Third Mind were created using the cut-up method, which I refined the longer I practiced it. What I do is I have photo copies from several tattoo collections, cut in half, and stored in a box. When I create a new set of flash, I simply take pages randomly from the box. Two pages per design, and then I create from it. Sometimes it is very simple and the two images fit together easily. Sometimes I am inspired by something from the pages, and other times it is a bit of a struggle, but my system helps me create without ever having a drought of ideas.(less)
