Straightforward, page-turner mystery/thriller novel with a couple dashes of thoughts on social media, being true to yourself, and following your passion. Would be a great beach/vacation book.

This was created, weaponized, and aimed right at me. Screwtape Letters meets Team of Rivals meets Hawthorne meets Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Spectacular.

I loved this. The exploration of grief, the issues with projecting onto -- anything, really, but in this case, Mabel -- and the totally unexpected meditation on TS White -- all great.
All the Ugly and Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood
"So there was definitely some disturbing material, and the title is...apt. And Brad put it better, "Still, I thought it was gripping and occasionally very moving, and wrestling with where it ended up was part of the experience."

“Place has always been important to me, and one thing today's Chicago exudes, as it did in 1893, is a sense of place. I fell in love with the city, the people I encountered, and above all the lake and its moods, which shift so readily from season to season, day to day, even hour to hour.”
